Wild at Heart: Olivia and Jerald’s Rustic Chic Wedding

October 21, 2019 Lana Faulkner
J&O-578.jpg

March 30, 2019

Florida isn’t necessarily known for deer antlers and pheasant feathers, but when Olivia and Jerald chose a nature-inspired, rustic chic wedding concept, Lana couldn’t hide her excitement.

The outdoorsy essence of the day would be seeded in the specific color scheme they selected: hunter green and wheat gold.  It was a brilliant combination of richness and warmth.

Olivia and her bridesmaids started the day in adorable pajamas, the bridesmaids in hunting plaid.  Once ready, Olivia carried an unstructured, loose bouquet of the wedding flowers: olive branches, blue thistle, white anemone, yellow poppy, peonies, silver dollar eucalyptus, spray roses, and scabiosa, all tied with a sorority handkerchief and adorned with a picture of loss loved one. Bridesmaids wore striking hunter green, off-the-shoulder dresses with similar bouquets.

A most memorable twist was touted by the men with feather bow ties created by Olivia and complementing feather boutonnieres made by Lana.

After the graceful church ceremony where complementing floral arrangements sat on the altar, guests gathered at Bramble Tree Estate to celebrate.  It was a beautiful setting of magnificent mossy oak trees with a lighted outdoor tent for dinner and a wood pole barn for dancing.

A variety of table layouts were displayed inside the tent in which some tables boasted long garland table runners and mercury glass candle holders while others showcased low arrangements and tall candles inside glass.  In the middle of the tent stood one tall, grand centerpiece.

For enduring accents to the rustic chic look, details such as antlers on the buffet table and hunter green drink koozies were special touches that brought the theme together.

We love how this wedding was a stellar combination of nature balanced with stylish elegance. It was creativity at its finest and Lana and her team were honored to be a part of it!

The Tree of Love: Isabelle and Sam’s North Florida Wedding

October 9, 2019 Lana Faulkner
Iz_&_Sam_Wedding_Photos-prints-576_websize.jpg

May 26, 2019

It started with a creative idea from wedding planner Lisa Stoner, of Lisa Stoner Events, and concluded with a one-of-a-kind showpiece that brought beauty and wow to Isabelle and Sam’s wedding at The Ribault Club on Fort George Island.

Having previously worked with Sam’s family for his sister’s wedding, Lana was ecstatic to create floral for the family once again.  And with Lisa’s extraordinary vision, paired with the look of the classic estate, it was sure to be one for the books.

And it was.

Thanks to what we like to call the “tree of love” - for both the love that it took to create it as well as the love that was pronounced under it - this design was the jewel look of the day.

The regal old tree that sits majestically on the estate was the backdrop for the ceremony and was to be turned into a modern chuppah.  Brightly colored floral would drape one side while traditional white fabric would complete it on the other.

The result was one of awe.

Peonies, white day lilies, blue delphinium, hydrangea, a variety of roses, and garden greens were meticulously adhered to the tree for a lush eye-catching piece.  It took just under five hours to complete and was a stunning scene.

The couple married under the tree which gave way to a romantic and cheerful ceremony. Isabelle carried a bouquet of white and dusty rose floral with delicate garden accents and Sam wore a complementing boutonniere.

For the reception, guests enjoyed a beautiful outdoor reception where wood farm tables made the complementing low floral pieces and tall candlesticks pop.  The dream look was one of organic beauty and love in this North Florida setting.

Not only was it a delight to reunite with Sam’s family, but we are honored to have been requested to make this wedding vision come to life!

Photo Shoot Flair: Romance and Whimsy at Sunny Acres Lodge

September 4, 2019 Lana Faulkner
sunny-acres-lodge-orlando-florida-wedding-photos-1034_websize.jpg

What happens when you bring some of Orlando’s best wedding professionals together to design, create, and shoot concepts they are dreaming of?

Scenes and pictures that wow even the most seasoned of us.

This was the goal for the Wed Talks photo shoot at Sunny Acres Lodge in Polk City, Florida and it was certainly achieved.

With A-list vendors:

Heather Parks and Cathlee Tomkow from Sunny Acres Lodge, Perfect Wedding Guide, Lana and Art Faulkner and Marelize Dingman with Fairbanks Florist, Erica Brilliant Trunk with Solutions Bridal Designer House, Tab McCausland with Tab McClausand Photography, Lisa Stoner with Lisa Stoner Events, Angela Desveaux from WedLuxe Magazine, Designer Weddings by Carly Rose, Brie and Brie Hair and Makeup, Over the Top Linens, Cut the Cake, Andi Mejia, A Chair Affair, Marin Makeup, and Fyerfly Productions

it’s no wonder brides and the industry alike are finding awe in the following pictures!

These vendors were brought together by Wed Talks to provide insightful guidance and inspiration for Florida wedding photographers. Each photographer was able to take advice from the speakers and shoot the created designs before them in which the winning photographer would be awarded the cover of the June/July issue for Perfect Wedding Guide (check it out here!).

Working together to create bridal vignettes inclusive of bride and groom models, attire, hair and makeup, floral, stationary, cake, linens and rentals, a variety of scenes were presented to the photographers from these vendors.

For the floral aspect of the photo shoot, Lana’s vision was to create an elegant look within a rustic atmosphere. She exceeded all expectations.  After attending a site visit headed up by Carly Rose with Designer Weddings, she was provided the linen selection for the day and then began devising her looks from there.

Lana began by creating a floral chandelier over the long indulgent reception table as well as a lush ceremony structure dripping with greenery and flowers.  She suspended the wedding cake from the ceiling of an old pole barn (look closely at the picture!), hung a gorgeous chandelier arrangement from a tree and even accented the Lodge’s rowboat in romantic blooms.

She used a variety of flowers and elements, including lavender wisteria and jasmine - some of her favorites to work with - and structured the bouquets from what was left over from the larger pieces of the day. Her creations were the perfect tone of romance and whimsy (which paired beautifully with the farm animals!) for this delightful day.

It was quite the dream look for photographers to shoot and it was enthralling to watch each work diligently to capture the day. The winning photographer was Amanda Turner of For the Moment Photography and we are thrilled to share her pictures below!

Vintage Chic in a Country Setting: Megan and Kevin’s Dream Day

November 27, 2018 Lana Faulkner

As Lana pulled up to the Bramble Tree Estate that November day in 2017, she was anxious to get designing. Not only did she have beautiful, unique pieces with her that Megan and Kevin had purchased themselves, but she had luck on her side when going to the floral market. Her inventory included a plethora of rich reds, delicate pinks, and the most stunning hanging amaranthus she had ever seen - all waiting to create the perfect upscale, rustic, and vintage look.

It would be a wedding design dream - both for her and for the couple.

The flowers weren’t to be wildly extravagant and ornate. They were to create the feeling of soft, vintage-inspired chicness in a spectacular country estate setting. But even though the flowers weren’t to be overdone, it did not mean they would be understated.

Rather, the flower design Lana would create would perfectly fit into the environment the couple selected. It would have an elegant abundance like no other.

The selected color palette, choice of flowers, design freedom Megan and Kevin provided Lana, and the collaboration with The Busy Bee Events and Design would prove to be the perfect combination for a wedding that would wow.

Without the bride knowing the bouquets would be adorned with hanging burgundy amaranthus, Lana made sure to have a plan to remove it if need be. However, it wasn’t needed as Megan was absolutely crazy about how beautiful the bouquets were.

Her trust in Lana had reaped its rewards and in effect, she and her bridesmaids carried one-of-a-kind designs that were standout pieces throughout the day.

Megan and Kevin were deeply involved in the planning of their wedding and purchased a black wrought iron arch for their ceremony. After brainstorming with Lana, the arch would be painted gold and accentuated with whimsical greenery and flowers, creating an eye-catching vintage elegance in a country chic setting.

Unique details at the ceremony made a big impression in creating the overall feel of the day. Light greenery attached to garden ceremony chairs, floral highlighting a welcome sign and table, and living room vignettes complete with complementing floral filled the day with the utmost sophistication and romance.

BST_3986.jpg

Continuing to awe guests, a lighted tent with varying tables was the perfect setting for dinner. Because the ambience of the tent on the impeccable grounds was so charming, the flowers were designed to highlight the brilliant color palette of red, burgundy, and pink in long rows and amongst candlelight to make a graceful impact.

In addition, a distinct cake table was the culminating piece of the reception. Displayed on an antique dresser with florals and greenery gently placed in slightly opened drawers, this piece was a draw for everyone. We particularly admire how the simple cake became glamorous in such a creative design space.

Megan and Kevin’s wedding was a true testament to the concept of utilizing unique, bold colors and flowers to make a stunning impact. By giving Lana the creative freedom and flexibility to design from the inspiration they gave her, their wedding was simply inspirational.
